Time in Edmonton

Well home for me is Edmonton, Alberta, Canada... my second home being Belize. Lots of fun events have occured since being home. Seeing old friends, having some family over for a visit during the holidays and just pretty much hanging out.

First things first... cut over six inches off of the length of my hair, and man did I need it! haha

Dad put me to work... well I offered to help him install the laminate in the basement! A few "mis-haps" but over-all we did a good job and figured it out as we went... guess working at Home Depot paid off! lol Probably not but... ;)

Catching up with one of my old work groups where I temped for them while they tried to fill the position and once again until I left for school. Catching up with them during a Christmas lunch and a few vodka shots! The group is always a blast to be around and a guaranteed laugh.

Hitting up the latin and reggae bars with one of my best girls, Meli and her cuz Claud. Once again a guaranteed good time!!! This is just how we do... this is why we hot! We know how to look good and rock the scene. No does it better than we. Heinekin, rum, whiskey, wine and fruity coolers for Meli and dance to some great reggae beats. Dutty wine ahn wine up pon me...

Chilling with Bobbi-Jo and Jo before The Frat for latin night and to visit Dani.

Having a great visit with Anthony... chilled out at Hudson's than spent the rest of the night at Denny's to catch up and chat! Dinner at Mikado's for a nice japanese dinner to celebrate a late birthday for dad and an early birthday for me. Drinks another night with Alex and Erin at Brewsters...

Gingur on Thursday for dollar highballs, and hitting up 180 for some good reggae beats.

The Mascara Queen!! haha Jody finally convinced her to get some wicked fake lashes... I think she found a new addiction other than her mascara! ;) So not only did her lashes look hot, her hair got smoking hot that night too... but litterally... she kinda fried a small bit of her hair! lol but her hair otherwise did look great!

More to come as today is NYE! and with still another four days left in e-town...

After back to Sechelt with more diving stories! Wreck and drift specialty, Divemaster to complete and the commencement of my IDC (Instructor Development Course)... its gonna be an exciting semester.

School update

As school is slowly coming to an end, first semester is completed and only three more months left of school in Canada. In April 2008, I'll be heading to the beautiful country of Belize and more specifically to Placencia. Placencia is south of Belize City and from where I have previously stayed in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. I'll be happy to be heading there as Eric, my fiance/husband, lives on Tobacco Caye in Belize and I miss him so much. Being around 3000 miles away from him to save for school and to complete school has been a struggle at times but I know that this separation has only made us stronger as a couple.

School in Sechelt, BC, Canada has been an interesting adventure so far. I've met some real amazing people, made some wicked friends whom I'll never forget. The holidays crept up quickly and we had some other specialties and a few people to catch up on some dives. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to complete the divemaster portion of our program this semester so it will be completed in the new year. Now on my Christmas holidays back home in Edmonton, I now have 81 logged dives and only need 19 more dives to reach the qualification goals for my IDC (instructor development course).

Sunday, December 8, 2007 - I was on my most recent boat dive with Kal's Charters - Propoise Bay Charters - my diving buddies were unable to participate in the second dive of the day so I asked the other diving group on the charter if they needed another diving buddy. One gentlemen, Doug, needed a buddy so I was incharge of guiding that dive for him. I gave him a good but short briefing and Kal gave me some tips for the up coming dive. Was a lot of fun for me and Doug, it was a great experience for me to have gotten the opportunity to do my first guided tour as a "divemaster". What a great experience guiding a dive tour before I was officially certified as a divemaster or OWSI (open water scuba instructor).

Returning to Sechelt on the sunshine coast in BC for January 4, 2008 to commencing my diving adventures! Next up will be some stories from my adventures here at home in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada...

fave pic from Canada

I just took this pic recently at the Sunshine Coast in BC Canada at Sakinaw Rocks/Pinicles. Great dive spot with some great things to see including a couple of Wolf Eels...
